- The life of Ruth is the model of a virtuous woman — she was morally excellent in her character and actions. But simply doing the virtuous things doesn’t make you righteous in God’s sight. It is only a choice of faith to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and forgiveness of sins that can do that. Ruth is an example of true virtue and righteousness because she put her faith and trust in God, and in Him alone. That made her righteous in God’s sight — she was redeemed.
